Head to the other end of the corridor where the sumptuous sitting room awaits, here you are invited to curl up beside the roaring wood burning stove after a day of exploring. There are two comfy three seater sofas and four plush armchairs, two are positioned directly in front of the large picture windows, making the perfect spot for morning coffee, sheltered from stormy seas. Next to the sitting room, you will find the superb study, and opposite sits the wonderful yoga studio with floor to ceiling mirrors, sink with vanity draw and an en-suite shower room. Bedroom five completes the ground floor, a lovely space with 3’ twin single beds and an en-suite shower room with rainfall shower, wash basin and WC.
Retreat upstairs to discover four boutique bedrooms boasting their own bath/shower rooms, balconies and unique character. Bedroom one resides at the end of the corridor, this delightful principal suite boasts a sumptuous king-size bed, plenty of storage space with built-in wardrobes, a dressing area and shutters opening to the balcony with slate tiled flooring, from which one can enjoy enchanting views across Mullion Cove towards miles of open sea. The barbecue tempts family feasts and there’s two wall-mounted electric patio heaters, so you can stay cosy outside until the moon and stars appear. Steps lead down to the large lawned garden with an array of wonderful plants, gently sloping to a wild area with meandering pathways and hedgy borders for ultimate privacy. At the bottom of the garden is a small wooden gate which provides easy access down to Mullion Cove from the road. The garden also has the delight of a circular pavilion seating area, an idyllic spot for breakfast or afternoon tea as the ocean glistens beyond.
Henscath House also has a wonderful rear garden behind the spacious gravel driveway. It boasts mature hedging, plants and trees on its borders, several vegetable patches and a greenhouse. You are more than welcome to pick vegetables and herbs from the garden for your own use. The friendly gardener visits Henscath House once a week and is more than happy to advise on the vegetables. The handy outdoor shower is perfect for washing sand off after the beach and there is a storage space just around the side of the house for wetsuits, paddleboards etc. If you can tear yourself away from this special retreat, you have the delights of Mullion Cove, Polurrian Beach and Poldhu Beach just a stone’s throw away.

If you feel like a walk further afield it is possible to walk via the beach into Carbis Bay and enjoy the location where world leaders congregated for the G7 in 2020 and enjoyed a Cornish Beach BBQ. The location was chosen to impress President’s and Prime Minister’s as it is indisputably a “World Class”, something many famous artists became aware of hundreds of years ago when the likes of Whistler was first attracted to the special St. Ives “light”. The location has also inspired writers and the famous local author Rosamunde Pilcher who described the walk to the house as her favourite walk: “My favourite walk is at Lelant, down the road past the Church onto the golf course. You see the Bay and the colours, and it’s never the same – it’s just perfect.”

If you can take your eyes off the breathtaking views of the sea or resist going outside for a private moonlit beach walk, there are plenty of options for unwinding and cuddling up either to watch a movie or read a good book. Literally, sandy beaches are right outside your door, alternatively, few meters away is a fantastic links golf course. If not, those who prefer the water can go paddle boarding, kayaking or kitesurfing. Hayle is a fantastic place to attempt kayaking, paddle boarding, and surfing if you’re interested in water activities.
If taking it easy is more your style it is possible to go fishing right outside your front door. Or, if birdwatching is a hobby the location is renowned for its twitching potential as it is the most southerly RSPB Reserve. Come spot a Golden Plover, Wigeon, Godwit, Redshank, Teal, Heron, Cormorant, Gull or Crow to name a few. Nature abounds at the location with guests repeatedly spotting Seals from the comfort of their beds to Glow Worms on an evening stroll.
The village of Lelant is well served with two great local pubs, a wonderful bistro and fabulous bird watching cafe. Wesleyan church, a magnificent converted church with a carefully considered and well-curated plan that highlights the exceptional unobstructed views of the surrounding Yorkshire Dales, was constructed in 1884 with many Gothic Revival architectural elements. The recent renovation has made sure that many of these traditional features now merge perfectly with all the modern comforts you would expect in a truly lovely rural hideaway, thanks to the property’s ideal location on the Bolton Abbey Estate.
The spacious open-plan living space with classic vaulted ceilings that evoke an atmosphere of old-world charm and warmth is accessible from the lovely white wooden entrance. Separating the cosy living area from the contemporary fully equipped kitchen and dining area with a big island and antique church pews, the room’s focal point is the dual aspect wood burning fireplace and open chimney breast.
Wesleyan Chapel has four spacious bedrooms (two double four poster beds and a super-king that may be made into twin beds upon request) that can accommodate up to eight people. The bedrooms are located down a stone staircase on the lower floor. Every bedroom is furnished with heritage colours and classic designs, and each has its own bathroom. All the bathrooms have cosy underfloor heating.
The patio outside has a seating area that is thoughtfully designed to optimise the enjoyment of the peace and quiet as well as the breathtaking views of Barden Bridge and the Wharfe Valley.
Enjoy a hot tub on the outdoor patio while taking in the pristine views of the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. For the most unforgettable outdoor dining experience, there is also a large seating area and a barbecue. Please be aware that in order to perform necessary water testing, the Bolton Abbey Estates team needs daily access to the hot tub. Every Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., the hot tub will be drained, cleaned, and refilled. There is no need to enter the cottage.
The neighbouring Devonshire Spa is open to Wesleyan Chapel guests for £7.50 per person. Reservations are required for 45-minute timed periods, which are available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Treatments, prolonged use of the spa’s amenities, and lunch are all included in the spa day experiences that are offered. Located in the rolling, pristine countryside at the end of a private drive, The Well House is a romantic, one-of-a-kind, and intimate getaway for two. To provide a unique vacation house, the owners have preserved a lot of the property’s historical features. The glass-topped, 40-foot-deep Well is an intriguing focal point that serves as a dining table with lights, shedding light on the Well’s interior. Along with lots of original exposed brickwork and timbers, there is also a comfortable wood-burning stove in an ancient brick fireplace. Your own outdoor area with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ is accessible through old, sturdy doors and full-height windows that bring in an abundance of natural light.

You will have complete access to the farm during your visit, which includes acres of woods, pastures, and meadows—nearly all of which are located within Local Wildlife Sites. A variety of species can be seen in the area, such as owls in the evenings, nightingales in the spring, and deer in the woods.
Craggan Mill is a stunningly refurbished corn mill that sleeps up to 16 people and has combined some unique, stunning handmade additions with its traditional character. Situated on the edge of Grantown-on-Spey, a Victorian village, this dog-friendly lodge is ideal for big family vacations as it offers convenient access to all the activities and fascinating locations in the Cairngorms. Although the lodge inside will undoubtedly surpass your expectations, there’s a good chance the outdoor area may surpass it too!
Among the best-equipped homes in the area is Smithy Croft. Located in the village of Carrbridge, beside the River Dulnain, it serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the remainder of the Cairngorms.

Whisky Trail Lodge is the kind of vacation house you’ll want to return home to and head out from, thanks to its fantastic outdoor space, which includes a hot tub, fire pit, and BBQ, and its town centre location. Grantown on Spey offers all you might ask for when taking a vacation from everyday life. There are many options for dining and drinking, including two of our favourite places for a flat white: KJ’s Bothy Bakery, which is just outside of town, and Fiona’s Wholefoods, which is only a five-minute stroll from the lodge. Grantown boasts numerous independent stores offering a wide range of merchandise, from art to apples, making a journey down the High Street a delightful experience. There are pathways for bicyclists and walkers everywhere, and the River Spey is only a short distance away.

Ski chalet decor is a major influence on the tastefully illuminated wood-everywhere interior of Snowy River Lodge. Large groups can enjoy mealtimes and aperitif hour in the well-equipped kitchen (complete with two wine fridges) and the spacious living and dining area with an open concept design. At the far end is a lounge area with sofas arranged around a 52-inch TV and a woodburning stove. A patio door leads to a south-facing bench for visits in fair weather, and another door opens to the deck, which has a solid wood dining table and a number of casual seating options.
Although Snowy River Lodge’s grounds are unique, you won’t regret exploring outside the garden’s bounds. Carrbridge is encircled by meandering walkways, red squirrels, and deer-filled woodlands. Holidaymakers with four legs will really enjoy their stay here. Along with additional dining and drinking options, the village features a fantastic local pub, a Spar store, a play area, bike jumps, and the much-loved Landmark Adventure Park.
First, there’s the entry, where you drive beneath a former railway bridge to reach a private haven decked out in fairy lights. If you stay outside, you will soon see the hot tub and barrel sauna close to the outdoor seating area. The fisherman’s hut, with its own wood-burning fire and riverside porch, can then be found by following the ancient mill course down through the garden to the River Spey. Ideal for an evening drink spot, a quiet reading nook, or a teen hangout.
There’s much to keep you busy here for a weekend, including the sauna, hot tub, river, garden, collection of board games, and the desire to just take in the space that Old Mill on the Spey seems to generate in everyone who stays. You’re in an excellent place to start your experiences if you decide to explore or if you have the good fortune to be staying longer. In less than ten minutes, Boat of Garten, a charming community with a fantastic shop, cafe, gallery, tavern, network of walkways, and bike pump track and it’s less than a 10-minute drive to everything Aviemore has to offer.
If, during your time at Highland Lodge Estate, you never leave the spa and wellness suite, we’ll forgive you. Inside is a sizable sauna with a glass front and a rain shower that looks out over a chill-out area with slate floors, underfloor heating, and a wood-burning stove. A deep spa bath with water jets and head pillows for complete shut-off is located in the corner. The large sliding door then leads to the deck area outside. Here, the emphasis is still on unwinding. Enjoy a meal at the dining table, unwind in the hot tub, socialize around the fire pit, or get a drink from the outside bar. There wouldn’t be a reason to leave the property if you weren’t in such a desirable area, near Aviemore and all that the Cairngorms National Park has to offer.
The 18th-century croft home and nearby steading at Crofts of Cairngorm make this a unique holiday spot. They are the perfect combination for a large gathering. The traditional stone cottage has three bedrooms as well as the living, dining, and kitchen areas. The stone steading can sleep nine guests at a time thanks to its two additional bedrooms and bathrooms.
All things considered, Crofts of Cairngorm provides a tranquil haven from the hectic lives we lead, and its position puts you in the center of everything that the Cairngorms National Park has to offer. Nethy Bridge features a great playpark beside a wide playing field, a hotel with a public bar, an excellent cafe and butcher/deli, and numerous possibilities for woodland walks. You can reach Aviemore, Grantown-on-Spey, and the charming nearby villages of Carrbridge and Boat of Garten with a 15-minute drive.

Step outside this Llandysul property to enjoy the large hot tub on a charming decked area, or make use the shared gym facilities for those with more energy. This Llandysul cottage’s walks lead you through the most scenic countryside, while local working mills and an array of castles can be discovered in the area.
