St Michael’s Cottage is one of Wells’ oldest buildings and as such there are uneven floor levels and steps both within and outside the property. The staircases inside the property are enclosed, steep, curved and narrow Norfolk winder stairs. We would advise that the house would not be suitable for those less mobile. If taking it easy is more your style it is possible to go fishing right outside your front door. Or, if birdwatching is a hobby the location is renowned for its twitching potential as it is the most southerly RSPB Reserve. Come spot a Golden Plover, Wigeon, Godwit, Redshank, Teal, Heron, Cormorant, Gull or Crow to name a few. Nature abounds at the location with guests repeatedly spotting Seals from the comfort of their beds to Glow Worms on an evening stroll.

Every Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., the hot tub will be drained, cleaned, and refilled. There is no need to enter the cottage.
The neighbouring Devonshire Spa is open to Wesleyan Chapel guests for £7.50 per person. Reservations are required for 45-minute timed periods, which are available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Treatments, prolonged use of the spa’s amenities, and lunch are all included in the spa day experiences that are offered. There will be a basket filled with delicacies from Jacks Tuck Shop in the lodging; you can choose to buy the water, chocolate, crackers, and carbonated drinks it sells.
Even though Abberley Shepherds Hut doesn’t have any fire pits or barbecues just outside, there is a special BBQ area on the property where single-use barbecue kits are for sale.

The Barn, which dates back to the 19th century, has undergone extensive renovations to create the perfect getaway spot for family or friends, being located at the southernmost tip of the Isle of Wight surrounded by National Trust downland and glorious coastal walks, just a short stroll will take you down to the Lighthouse. During the renovation the roof was lifted to make space for two bedrooms upstairs, decorated in light colours and wood painted floors, both have south facing views over the garden and English Channel beyond. The ground floor is open plan and designed in a contemporary style with a wood burner to relax by with a good book and a glass of wine! The kitchen is well equipped if you feel like cooking or pop round the corner to our local Inn. The Barn is a perfect retreat for couples and families who love the outdoor life in summer and winter, one small dog is welcome.

This historic Grade 1 listed structure, which is only 700 years old, has lately undergone exquisite restoration to create an incredibly comfortable space. It is a memorable place to stay because of its Gothic architecture, spacious reception halls with vaulted ceilings, and burning log fireplaces.
The only structures left from the ancient 20-acre estate are the Refectory barn, the Rere-Dorter, and the Priory, which was established in the 12th century as the gatehouse to an Augustinian Priory.
