The Shooting Lodge

Dorset

Areas Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Dorset, South West England

The Shooting Lodge is a distinctive vacation property that is perfect for large families or groups of friends. It is located near the River Frome and high up on the Dorset Downs, surrounded by beautiful landscape.

Thomas Hardy utilised the location, which boasts stunning views of the South Dorset Downs, in his novel “The Three Strangers.” A visit at The Shooting Lodge will be exceptional and unforgettable because of this exceptional site, which is perched atop a coppice that is brimming with flowers and fruit.

When guests venture outside, they are encouraged to explore the walkways and take in the breathtaking views that stretch across The Wrackleford Estate in all directions. The ideal location for alfresco dining is the dining terrace, which has a large table and chairs as well as a BBQ. Morning coffee can be enjoyed while relaxing in the carved wood resting area at the front of the property.

Despite being in a peaceful area, the lodge is only a mile from the main road and the neighbouring community of Stratton. The Shooting Lodge is ideal for a restful getaway or an exciting vacation in Dorset because the county town of Dorchester, with its stores, eateries, museums, and movie theatres, is only ten minutes away by car. The Jurassic Coast is also conveniently located.
